Rick Ainge, is one of the newer elected board members on the Nebo School Board of Education. He won his seat in the Salem area that includes portions of Spanish Fork, Woodland Hills, Elk Ridge and Payson. Rick filled Debbie Swenson’s seat.

Denise Villarta Selected Washington D.C. Faculty Adviser

Denise Villarta, science teacher at Maple Mountain High School, was selected to be a faculty adviser for the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment held this month at George Mason University. The week long summit has invited top high school students from all over the U.S.

Cafe Rio Gives $2,500 to Nebo School District

Café Rio, Spanish Fork, had their grand opening June 8, 2011, and presented a check of $2,500 to Nebo School District. Bob Nilsen, Chairman of the Board, said they want to help and give back to the community and especially to the schools in this area.

Get Away Donates to Nebo Education Foundation

The Nebo Education Foundation is in the business of giving grants to teachers and schools to help enrich student learning. However, this week Get Away Today gave money to the Nebo Education Foundation to help fund those grants.

Nebo School District retires 47 employees in 2011

Nebo School District retires 47 employees in 2011 that included 1,234.5 years of service. Twenty-five of those retirees are certified teachers including 726 years of service, and twenty-two retirees are classified employees with 508.5 years of service.
