Nebo’s Psychologist, Kendra McPherson, Honored with State Award

Kendra McPherson, at Sierra Bonita Elementary, was recognized as the School Psychologist of the Year 2022 for the state of Utah by the Utah Association of School Psychologists (UASP).  She was presented with this award at the annual UASP conference in December 2022. 

Kendra has worked for several years as the school psychologist at Sierra Bonita Elementary. In addition, she often takes on additional roles in areas of supervision, assessment, collaboration, and professional development. 

Nominators related the following about Kendra: “Kendra represents all the best qualities of a school psychologist, advocating tirelessly for students' academic success, and social-emotional well-being. In observing Kendra interacting with students in Nebo, she demonstrates care for each and every student. She has a positive influence on those around her, including families, her school team, and students with diverse backgrounds and challenging learning needs.”
