Park School's PR Ambassador, Sheree Storrer, and Principal Lindsey Hughes

Congratulations to Park Elementary School, in Nebo School District, and Park School's PR Ambassador, Sheree Storrer, for earning the Nebo #Hashtag Award. This award is given to the school that communicates to their parents and students, in a variety of ways, the events and important news items happening at school. Park Elementary has posted 25 stories this past month and 170 stories for the previous school year. The school also has approximately 255% of their student enrollment connected on social media to get the latest news from the school. Go check out all the wonderful things that are happening at Park Elementary: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057746886110.

Principal Lindsey Hughes said, “Sheree goes above and beyond in making sure our parents and community know all the wonderful things happening at Park. She reaches out to teachers personally to ask about what incredible things they have going on in their classrooms and would be willing to share online and then she gets pictures and the write-up posted immediately. She makes sure that everything is posted to our website and our social media accounts. She doesn't waste time and is very proactive in her role as our school PR. We are so lucky to have someone like Sheree as our school PR because she loves to brag about our incredible staff and students! We love Sheree!”

Sheree Storrer said, “As a parent to three students in the Nebo School District, I am always wanting to see what happens in my childrens' classes and school. Since I can't follow my children around everyday, I love that social media and emails allows me to feel included but also gives me a chance to ask my kids about certain activities or fun lessons that may not necessarily be the first thing they think to tell me when they get home from school.”

Mrs. Storrer also stated, “Newsletters, emails, photos and videos on social media and our schools' website are great ways to include parents and get information and daily school activities out quickly! As an educator at Park Elementary, I volunteered to be our schools' webmaster/PR Ambassador point of contact. I try to think of any way to snap photos or videos of even the little things happening at our school. Many times, my posts or photos come from my faculty and staff friends! I can't be in every classroom during every lesson or activity and my coworkers are awesome at helping to send me the information. I know that if I cannot be at school, my friends have me covered for assemblies and are amazing at volunteering to help me out. This award may be in my name, but it honestly deserves to be for everyone at Park Elementary. I couldn't do this position without everyone else and a huge bonus is that I get to call them my friends as well! Go Park Panthers!!”

Lana Hiskey, the Nebo Communications Administrator, presented the award to School PR Ambassador Sheree Storrer at the recent School PR Ambassador district-wide training. Congratulations on a job well done!
