The Nebo Education Foundation is composed of 20 volunteer board members who live in cities serviced by Nebo School District.  Board members meet each month to review and award grant requests, consider fund-raising avenues and other items that advance the educational opportunities for Nebo School District students. Many of the donations received are for selected projects, yet a substantial amount is available for the greatest need.  Greatest need monies are considered for grants submitted by area schools.

"The Nebo Education Foundation couldn't fund these grants without the tremendous support we receive from the Green Fever golf tournament, business partners, and  individual donors. Thank you for the generosity of our community. The students in Nebo District have a more enhanced education than they would otherwise receive. We are grateful for all the good we see happening as a result of all those who support the Nebo Education Foundation," said executive director Lana Hiskey.

Congratulations to the following teachers that continue to inspire the minds of students.

Spanish Fork Junior – Counseling Department
Shannon Bennett, counselor at Spanish Fork Junior, said, “The Spanish Fork Junior High is excited about offering a Sensory Room for our students. The room will be called the ‘Lobo Zen’ and will be available to students who are experiencing elevated levels of anxiety or stress during the school day. The room provides sensory tools, such as art, sand, music, puzzles, and other items that can assist in bringing anxiety levels down.    As students face many stressors throughout the day, we appreciate the additional resources we can provide to create a safe environment for all students. The room will also provide an educational place for students to learn coping strategies to assist them in their attendance, academics, and emotional health.”

Springville Junior – April Rockwood
“I am so excited for the Nebo Foundation grant to provide resources for ALL of our students. We will be purchasing video equipment for our students to check out and use, including small action cameras and accessories to go with it. Now all of our students, regardless of their home economic situation, have the opportunity to learn these skills by putting them into action. In the library, we will also have video equipment teachers and students can use in class, including green screens, tripods, and microphones. By making students the creators, we increase their interest and investment in what they are learning,” stated April Rockwood, the new librarian at Springville Junior.

Maple Mountain High – McKenzie Stowell
McKenzie Stowell said, “Maple Mountain High's physical education program is incredibly grateful for the funds that will go towards the dumbbell storage equipment for the new dumbbells we have ordered. We didn't get rid of our old dumbbells, rather we increased our enrollment number by a lot because of the large number of students, both boys and girls, that enrolled in weight training. We are happy to see our numbers grow in the weight room and hope this will aid in improving our student's physical and mental health.”

Brookside Elementary – Mijken Hall
“Thank you so much to the generous donors of the Nebo Education Foundation!
The money from this grant will allow our students to engage in motivating play-based activities. I am so excited to get these materials into our classroom to help the students make progress. Thank you Nebo Foundation for recognizing the needs of our special learners,”
