Canyon Elementary students started the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance led by fifth-grade student, Stephen Peterson.
Principal Julie Peery thanked the Nebo School Board for the invitation to come and present to the Board.
These student-leaders shared their school’s goals and theme for the year.
Stephen Peterson talked about Canyon’s Tracks. Olivia Griffiths presented on the theme of having a “Growth Mindset” in all they do. Devun Dallin and Kiersten Longmore are Peer tutors and discussed how they help other children. Wesley Priego and Addilynn Beardall discussed their experiences as lunch buddies for students who need assistance.
Then the large crowd and the Nebo School Board of Education were enchanted by the third, fourth, and fifth grade choir led by Tammy Hutchings. This delightful group of students sang the school song and another song titled, “You are never fully dressed without a smile.”
