The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Coral Lee Findlay as the Principal of Spring Lake Elementary for Nebo School District.
Mrs. Findlay earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and her master’s degree in Education Administration from Southern Utah University.
Some awards that Mrs. Findlay has received include the Crystal Apple Award and the Nebo School District’s PEAK Award in 2014.
For the past four years, Mrs. Findlay has served as Principal of Salem Elementary. Previously, she was an intern coach for Foothills Elementary for six years where she mentored interns from Utah Valley University and provisional teachers. Mrs. Findlay taught first-grade for two years at Mt. Loafer Elementary, and a second-grade for eight years at Foothills, Mt. Loafer, and Barnett Elementary Schools. Also, she was honored with the Crystal Apple Award.
Coral Lee said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with the amazing students, parents, faculty, and staff at Salem Elementary. They have been so supportive, patient, and trusting of me; and they will forever have a special place in my heart. I look forward to my new adventure at Spring Lake, and I’m excited to work hard in building new relationships and soaring with the Hawks!”
A colleague said, “Coral Lee handles any situation in a timely and professional manner. Her interactions and decisions are always fair, professional, and ethical. She is a team player and exhibits commitment to the profession. Coral Lee has a positive attitude and wears a smile even when she is dealing with hard things. She is reflective, kind, caring, dependable, and follows through with all her responsibilities.”
One of Coral Lee’s favorite sayings is by Dalai Lama, “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.” She also said, “Kindness is a choice that doesn’t cost anything, but means everything.”
Coral Lee has chaired events for Salem Days and is a member of the Salem City Emergency Preparedness Committee. She enjoys baking, sewing, reading, and gardening. Coral Lee is married to Russ; they have three daughters and one son as well as seven grandchildren.
